CBD – A Real Alternative to Prescription and OtC Medications

The legal form of cannabidiol (CBD) is not marijuana. It’s extracted from hemp, a plant in the cannabis family, that contains less than 0.3 percent THC – not near enough to get you high. Numerous studies show hemp and its CBD component offer many health benefits, including anti-inflammatory properties that rival ibuprofen, cardiovascular and immune system support (due to omega-rich fatty acids), as well as sleep and mood enhancement.

My latest contribution to Coffee or Die magazine tells the story of former Army Ranger, Coby Cochran. Coby’s early struggles with PTSD and its associated complications led to the birth of his company UnCanna, which makes some of the best CBD product in the industry. UnCanna is leading the charge to convince Congress and the DOD to lift restrictions on CBD use for active military personnel. A link to the story appears below.

Remembering Our Four-Legged Veterans

National K9 Veterans Day honors the service and sacrifices of our American military and working dogs. On March 13, 1942, the US Army began training for its new War Dog Program, the “K-9 Corps.” This was the first time in history that dogs officially became part of the US Armed Forces. To commemorate this day, Tim Cooper from Family 1st Defense contributed the following article to the Black Rifle Coffee Company’s Coffee or Die Magazine.

Mission K9 Rescue is Finding Homes for Heroic Dogs

Imagine you were best friends with your co-worker or employee – that the day-to-day challenges at the office didn’t interfere with your relationship. Your loyalty to your employer and friend would never pose a conflict of interest. What if this friend could lead you up any mountain, sniff out bombs and bad guys, and even lay down his life for you?
